Student Visas
Securing a student visa is a crucial step for international students planning to study at British University College (BUC). Our dedicated International Student Officer is here to assist you through the entire process, ensuring a smooth transition to your new academic life in the UAE. Below, you’ll find detailed information on the student visa application process, required documents, and important tips.
Student Visa Application Process
To initiate the Student Visa application process, kindly follow the steps outlined below. Submit a completed Visa Application Form along with the following documentation to your Student Recruitment Office:
Submit Required Documents:
A completed Visa Application Form (provided by BUC).
Clear color copy of your passport (with a minimum validity of 6 months).
Two passport-size photos with a white background.
Receipt confirming payment of visa and tuition fees.
Copy of your current visa (if currently residing within the UAE).
Copy of the offer of admission letter (applicable for new students).
Application Submission:
Submit all required documents to the Student Recruitment Office either in person or via email at visaoffice@buc.ac.ae.
Application Processing:
The International Student Office will process your application and liaise with UAE immigration authorities. Processing times can vary, so apply as early as possible.
Receive Your Student Visa:
Once approved, your student visa will be issued, allowing you to travel to the UAE and begin your studies at BUC.
Visa Renewal and Extension
Renewal:
British University College Ajman issues student visas (excluding visit visas) for a duration of one year, with the possibility of multiple renewals throughout the course of your studies. The International Student Office will assist you with the renewal process.
Extension:
If you need to extend your stay beyond your initial visa period, contact the International Student Office for guidance on the extension process.
Important Tips
Medical/Travel Insurance:
It is strongly recommended that students maintain adequate medical/travel insurance in the UAE until the British University College Ajman student visa is stamped on their passport.
Emirates ID Card:
Additionally, all students under a university-sponsored visa are required to possess a valid Emirates ID card.
Government Pre-Approval
Please note that the visa application process for the UAE involves a government pre-approval procedure. The essential student visa requirements are outlined above. Emirates ID
All students on a university-sponsored visa are required to have a valid Emirates ID card. Students who have been issued a new visa are advised to immediately register for an Emirates ID card and provide a copy of the card to the Registrar’s department.
Steps to register for an Emirates ID card:
STEP 2: Upon filling in the form, you will receive an SMS setting the date and place of registration.
STEP 2: You must attend Emirates ID office stated in the SMS to complete the process.
